I've listed two options below: if it's simplicity you are after, I would recommend Fortune5Minutes, a 3x2 matrix with a low one-off joining fee; however, if you're prepared to spend a little more time, and money, on your business, then I recommend joining Global Communications Team Resources, and using this business to promote both F5M and GCT, which is a great biz opp in its own right.

My second recommendation for a home business is a brand new marketing system called GCT Resources. What you get, for a monthly fee of $30, is business start-up training, educational videos and ebooks, advertising resources, generic home business autoresponder system and capture pages to promote this business and any other home business you choose, team support and live public forum. It also offers a funded proposal, so you can make money from affiliate programs while building long term residual income in your primary network marketing business. If you're just starting out in business, or you're a seasoned pro, this system is invaluable, and comes with a clever compensation plan. Well worth the money.

So, now you've chosen your business, how do you get people to join you in your business opportunity so you can actually earn money from home? There are plenty of companies out there who will tell you that you have to write a list of 100 people you know, phone them up, invite them to a business presentation...

STOP! Don't do that! This is the internet, right? So let's use it! I know I decided on using the internet to earn money from home because, so long as I have access to a computer and an internet connection, I can work my business wherever and whenever I want. And if you get your website set up correctly, it can do some of the work for you! But only some of the work, after all this is network marketing, so let's do some networking!

If you're new to the internet, it can all be a bit daunting at first. You'll hear it said a thousand times that to do business you need to build a list. Well, yes and no. It's probably very true if you have a website and you need a constant stream of people buying from your website, regularly. But network marketing works differently. You are not necessarily relying on repeat business from people. Sure, it would be nice if every person who ever signed up under you in one business opportunity then joined you in all your others as well, but let's get real! That's not likely to happen. So I would concentrate on getting people to join your main business. But how do you do this?

You may decide at first that you don't really need a website, and you can just use the affiliate url's you will get from the program you join. But it is essential that that you get your own domain so that you can advertise your own unique url and start to establish your web presence. If at first you're not up to creating your own site (but you can always use the HIT web creator, for free!) you can always buy your own domain name (try to get 'yourname.com' if possible) and redirect your own unique url to your affiliate site. This looks more professional, will rank you higher with the search engines, and avoids you losing out through people making mistakes when typing your url.

So how do I set about getting a website? First you need a domain - you can buy domain names from hundreds of sites (just do a google search for domain names) and some of these are free. You will also need hosting, which again is offered by many different companies, and you will need to choose one that suits you, depending on where you live etc. But a great place to get your domain name and hosting in one package is through a company called Global Domains International. At $10 per month this is not your cheapest option, but this is also a business opportunity, so you can sell the very same services you are using and build another stream of income!

Once you've got your unique url, you can set about promoting it and building your 'web presence'. One of the best ways to market is on social and business networking sites. It sounds obvious, but so many people don't do it, or don't do it the right way - they might join the sites but then all they do is spam everyone they come into contact with. A much better, and more productive way to create a strong following is to build relationships with people, get to know them and let them get to know you, before you introduce them to your business opportunity. I've listed some networking sites below - there are many more out there, so look around, and be aware that some can be more social than business orientated. Make contacts, spread the word about your business, establish a presence, and watch your business grow!

You can run your network marketing business without having your own website - you will get standard affiliate websites with every program you join, and you can advertise your affiliate url to get sign-ups. You will need a means to track hits to your affiliate site, and it's a good idea to use a link cloaker to disguise your affiliate url. So instead of using http://greatprogram.com/members/ref.id=??bchapman (an affiliate url will look something like this, rather long and ugly) you can use systems to shorten this eg. snipurl.com. Or use a system like TrackThatAd which disguises your url and tracks your hits at the same time.
